Vice President Yemi Osinbajo is currently hosting governors of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) to Iftar at his official residence, Akinola Aguda House, in the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

Daily Trust learnt that the vice president would use the occasion to consult with the party governors operating under the aegis of the Progressive Governors Forum (PGF) on his presidential ambition.

By 6:45pm, six governors, including those of Kaduna State, Nasir El-Rufa’i, and Ogun State, Dapo Abiodun, were already within the premises.

Other APC governors seen being driven in before the scheduled time for the meeting were Hope Uzodinma of Imo; Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos and Gboyega Oyetola of Osun.

However, a source said the vehicle might have conveyed the deputy governor of Osun, Benedict Alabi, since Governor Oyetola is in Makkah, Saudi Arabia, for the lesser Hajj (Umrah).

Journalists were not invited to the meeting believed to be exclusive to invited governors and some of their aides.

Efforts to get the roll call of the governors who had entered before 6:15pm were unsuccessful as neither the spokesman of the Vice President, Mr Laolu Akande, nor any of the security personnel at the gates were ready to provide the information.
